I have learned very many valuable tips in the past four weeks of classes. The topics that have stood out to me the most would be when we watched the different types of persuasive speeches in class. Also, the power point on YouTube that I have found very interesting was the young women teaching us about all the different types of energy. If gave me a good brief description on how I can approach my topic and keep the audience interested.
For my different techniques I have learned how to communicate better with my audience, always remember to speak clearly and to keep my audience interested in my topic.
My instructors approach to teaching me to learn new learning techniques have been very helpful. The different activities we have been doing in class have been very interesting and useful. One example we have played in class was the game telephone. It was very hand-on and it made everyone in the class listen closely.

The communication I have learned about this year was to always make eye contact with your audience. Also, confidence is key. If you know about your topic and you are ready to present it, your audience will want to hear about it and will pay you more respect once you are ready to present. Giving myself a grade on confidence, where I am at right now I would consider myself at a B average. I chose this because I have not fully conquered being confident in myself but I will try my hardest to over come the fear of public speaking. The collaboration I have learned is that being friendly is the main key. If you are friendly and can work well with others, that will get you very far in life. I am giving myself an A for this category because I am not shy when it comes to meeting new people and working together in teams. I actually prefer working with someone for a certain project rather than alone.
The learning materials given in this course prepared me for the future. Not many people might know this but this is a very tech-savvy class. A lot of the material is found and managed through the Internet. For example, web mail, Angel, and Weebly are all found on the Internet. I have not used Weebly before but after working on this assignment, I did not find it difficult at all and also I am much more familiar with Angel and You tube after taking this course. I would grade myself with an A because I do enjoy working on the computers and I have learned a lot the past couple months. The assignments for this class were not difficult at all. Professor Magabo would email us before hand, numerous times with examples and layouts of our projects and how they are supposed to be done. Not all professors do that so I am very thankful that that task is being done. I will give myself a B for this category because I have fulfilled what has needed to be done for my speeches but I have missed some due dates that I am not happy with. Speech delivery I would grade myself at a B as well because I have gotten constructive criticism that I used in the future and I always get the same response, “Don’t rely so much on the power point”. Instructors teaching style and approach are very helpful for me. Professor has many ways of communicating with the students through the Internet, in class and also through power points. If it wasn’t for the examples of the power point speeches I would have been very lost. My grade for part D would be an A. Lastly, my attitude for the class would be positive. I give myself a B because I have missed class which is unlikely but I have been very sick this year with colds, and catching other colds but I have been striving to always attend class and not miss anymore days. My learning style that I would most likely change would be to make myself attend class more often so I don’t miss any more class lessons. I give myself an A because I know in my heart that I am not going to miss any more classes until this semester is completed.

After presenting my persuasive speech I have learned that the main key is to not rely on your power point so much, to be confident in yourself and to keep your eyes on the audience. I know that in my informative speech, I did read off the power point because I was nervous. In my persuasive speech I had tried not so much to rely on the power point and to keep good eye contact with the audience. I had done a little bit of both but I know that that is just something I am going to learn as I progress into more projects dealing with public speaking. I will give myself a B in this category because I have not fully over came my habit/fear but that is something I am going to need to work on.
My major is psychology and I know that my goal is to become a psychiatrist when I am older. For this career, I am going to need the skill to be able to communicate with others on a daily basis. Having taken CAS100 this is prompting me to become a better communicator with others and to catch others attention and to also have them listen to me when I am giving vital information. I will grade myself a B for this one as well because I am still trying to increase this category.
I would recommend practicing your speeches in the mirror or in front of others so you can get a better feel for your topic and be able to present it in front of the class with less fear. Also, pick a topic you find interesting. I had done my two speeches of Cyber Relationships and I find them very interesting and I wanted my audience to know how I felt about the topic and the situations they could cause for better and for worse. I rate myself an A on this category because I had done both of those strategies and they were very helpful for me and I hope someone could agree with me along these lines.
I believe I have met the objective of being able to stand in front of the room and just be able to talk. Before this class I was never really familiar with techniques and proper etiquette of public speaking. I will also give myself a B on this topic because I have not fully over come the fear and I still get nervous before I have to present.
Some comments and suggestions for this class that I recommend is that maybe more speaking activities in class to prepare us more. The power points presented in class with the different types of speeches were a bit confusing for me. Other than that I am happy with the way that the professor is teaching this course because in my opinion I have learned a lot this semester.
